At a recent meeting of the Labour run Erdington District Committee the Labour Councillors announced that 80% of the funding for School Crossing Wardens could be axed from 1st April.
When the cuts were announced Kingstanding Labour Cllr Peter Kane said
“We have found … an awful lots of these patrols were totally unnecessary”!

Did you know - The Labour Council are spending £64 Million on Wheelie bins while cutting 80% of Erdington’s School Crossing Wardens to save just £80,000. This is less than 1/800th of the total Labour are spending on Wheelie Bins across Birmingham! While Birmingham is given £42 Million a week by the Government to ensure the future of services like School Crossing Patrols.
