The Malcolm Locker youth centre put on a Christmas Fair for local families and children this weekend. Popular local Cllrs Gareth Moore and Bob Beauchamp went along as well to support the event. Special guest Santa also came along and paid a visit to everyone at the centre. Santa Claus, who bore a remarkable similarity to Cllr Robert Alden, was there to run the Santa's grotto. The day also saw a raffle, Christmas dinner for all the users of the centre in the evening, table tennis tournament and lots of other party games and activates.
It was at the table tennis tournament where Santa Claus really stole the show. Much to everyone's surprise Santa entered the Centre Table tennis tournament and made it all the way to the semi-finals before losing to Malcolm Locker manager Lee. Santa said "It was lovely to see so many happy children having a great time at the Centre. Lee however will not be on my Christmas list now!" (Santa was of course joking).
Gareth said "it was a great day and summed up the brilliant local community spirit we have here in Erdington".
