As you will be aware in May the Labour Party took control of Birmingham City Council. At the June Council meeting they made it clear that they will be increasing funding to inner city areas at the expense of the suburban areas. Sadly here in Erdington we have already seen the impact of Labour looking after their friends in the inner city. It has now been confirmed that the Labour Deputy Leader of the Council have placed on hold the funding for the 2nd phase of Erdington High Street pavement works. Despite the £300,000 being secured and agreed in March - Labour now want to try and take the money away from Erdington High Street, despite Labour having ‘found’ extra money for the Newton and Lozells action plan, this month!
Residents are asking “Just what have Labour got against Erdington?”
Robert, Bob and Gareth will be delivering a petition to local residents demanding the Council drop plans to cut funding in the coming days.
