Robert, Gareth and Bob are delighted to announce that the Labour Council have back tracked and now released the money for Erdington High Street. They launched the campaign to save the money when officers emailed OUR popular local councillors in June stating that “The Deputy Leader [of the Labour-run Council] is currently reviewing this scheme, therefore progression to the construction stage is currently on hold.”
Robert said “thank you to everyone who signed our petition given the huge showing of support their was from local residents it is no surprise to see the Council forced to eat humble pie and release the money which was fairly given to Erdington High Street.”
Gareth added “while we were working hard to keep this money in Erdington we were saddened to see that the local Labour Party refused to support OUR campaign and instead spent time complaining about our efforts.”
THANK YOU!
“Thank you to every resident, who signed our petition. Thanks to the huge wave of public anger at the placing on hold of the High Street funding the Labour Council has had to carry out a humiliating retreat and release the funding for phase two to allow it to take place!”
