Residents will be aware that Bob, Robert, Matt and Gareth have been fighting any plans to reduce services at Erdington library, the second busiest library in the city.
It was therefore with great sadness that the 7 Labour Councillors in Erdington Constituency decided to vote against saving Erdington Library Services at the recent meeting of the Erdington Constituency Committee.
Residents raised the issue and local councillor Robert Alden proposed a motion to save the Library, seconded by a Conservative Councillor from Stockland Green Ward Matt Bennett. This was then put to a vote and all 4 Conservative Councillors voted to save the Library and its services, however the Labour Councillors voted not to save the library and its services.
Cllr Bob Beauchamp said “this is not the end of the matter we will not let it rest here! It is shocking that the Labour Party have chosen to cut the local library in Erdington.”
