As residents will be aware, we have been campaigning to improve our local car parks. We are delighted to say that work has now started thanks to the funding we secured and pressure we applied on the Council to ensure the work happens.
Robert said “This work will help improve the appearance of the local area, provide a smart car park to attract local shoppers with an improved experience. We hope residents enjoy it. We demanded only the best materials and design for the Car Park as that is what local residents deserved.”
Funding for the scheme was secured by popular local Cllrs Robert, Bob and Gareth after they campaigned for the Council to introduce a capital portion to Community Chest last year. Thereby making it easier to have capital improvements made in local wards.
The work will see the old wooden trip rail replaced with a new decorative fence in the same village green colour used on the new street lights, with gold toppers. Work is also being done at the bottom of the car park to remove over-grown vegetation and put in raised planters to stop dumping and the bushes being used as toilets. As they had been previously at night.
