Slade Road is due to be resurfaced during week beginning13th November. The complete length of the road will have a new surface and the lines repainted. As Slade Road is an important road for traffic most of the work will be carried out overnight – from 7pm until 6am, and the road will be open during the day. This will obviously be better for many of the businesses, but it will be disruptive for residents. I did ask for the sections of Slade Road that are purely residential – ie from Spaghetti Junction to George Road and from Fentham Road to Hampton Road – to be done during the day and the rest to be done overnight. This would have meant the job could be completed more quickly and the disruption to residents reduced. However, this was not supported by your two Labour Councillors
The work will be done in phases - Phase 1 from Fentham Road to Reservoir Road and then Phase 2 from Fentham Road to Salford Circus, but it will all be done overnight. This will obviously be difficult and disruptive for everyone on Slade Road and I have asked the Council to ensure that the work is as quick as possible and that inconvenience is kept to a minimum. Please contact me if there are any problems
