Popular local Councillors successfully secure phase one funding for improvements to Erdington High Street from the Conservative Council, following a long campaign led by Robert, Bob and Gareth. £200,000 is secured to go with the approximately £180,000 OUR local Conservative Councillors had already secured.

Robert, Gareth and Bob have several meetings with officers to personally chose the stones to be used, ensuring that the best possible surface is selected for Erdington ra-ther than cheap brick or concrete. Only the best is good enough for Erdington.

Robert and the team oversee the submission of a bid for Local Improvement funding, to cover the costs of phase two of the work to Erdington High Street

The bid for Local Improvement funding, to cover the costs of phase two of the work to Erdington High Street is successful and the then Conservative Council ensures £300,000 is allocated to phase two for Erdington High Street.
Erdington Labour party fail to apologise or withdraw comments that they oppose improvements secured by OUR local Councillors and Town Centre Partnership for Erd-ington High Street.

Labour take control of Birmingham City Council, Labour’s Candidate for Erdington says “this is amazing news for Erdington” and rumours circulate that money for Erdington will be cancelled.

Officers email local Councillors, following their enquires, to confirm that the Deputy Leader of the Labour-run Council has placed funding on hold. Despite the fact the funding was already in placed and agreed, as they had concerns over LIB 2 projects
Robert, Gareth and Bob campaign to have the funding released for Erdington High Street and oppose plans to move funding from the suburbs to the inner cities. Locally Labour put party politics before Erdington by not signing up to support Robert, Gareth and Bob’s campaign.
Labour Candidate for Council in 2012 writes to paper slamming Conservative campaign to save the High Street funding.
Thanks to local residents Robert, Gareth and Bob’s campaign is successful and the funding is released to Erdington for the work to go ahead!

Erdington Labour Party deliver leaflet confirming funding was frozen, failing to oppose this move by the Labour Council or to support the Conservative campaign to release the funding immediately. In addition they raise no objections to any plans from the Labour Council to move money from suburban to the inner cities parts of Birmingham.
